Next week, February 27 in Barcelona, the Mobile World Congress takes place. This HUGE event will have a Nextcloud presence, shared with our friends at Canonical. Look up the fresh blue color between the bright orange at the Ubuntu booth! You can even book a meeting on the Canonical site to discuss Nextcloud, the Nextcloud Box and IoT technology.
We’ll be demonstrating our collaborative project: the Nextcloud Box, an amazing piece of hardware and software built by WDLabs, Canonical and Nextcloud!
The Nextcloud Box builds on the 1TB USB3 PiDrive by WDLabs with a Nextcloud case around it. The user has to supply the box with a Raspberry Pi. The included MicroSD Card contains Canonical’s Snappy Ubuntu with a Nextcloud Snap. This powerful combination delivers secure, fully automatic unattended updates to your software, making this the perfect device for users who want a private cloud without the fuzz of maintaining it!
Learn more about the box in this announcement from our conference last year:
You can learn more about the making of the Nextcloud Box in this blog post and find out how Snaps were helpful in delivering a easy to use solution in this webinar.
